s::can spectro::lyser

In-situ spectrophotometer

What is spectro::lyser?

An in-situ spectrophotometer for the detection of chemical compounds and suspended particles in water. This instrument's detection mechanism is based on light absorption of a chemical compound at a specific wavelength.

The spectro::lyser can – in principle – measure all substances that absorb light in the UV and visible spectrum (190 – 750 nm) as long as the detection is not disturbed by other parameters. The reduction in intensity, i.e. the absorption, of light is directly proportional to the concentration of the absorbing components in the water. It can therefore be used to calculate the concentration of e.g. BOD, COD, BTX, TOC, TSS, DOC, UV254, Nitrate, Nitrite, Turbidity or Ozone in water. Using different optical path lengths, the sensor is suitable for monitoring drinking water (35 mm), surface water (5 mm), or wastewater (1 mm).
